I know trailers are not my strongest point, but I really tried my best on this one. For me this was a real challenge, and I've made several projects and abandoned them. In the end I decided to finish this one because I liked the idea the most and because it was working out pretty well. I'm already amazed by how far I made it into this contest, and I just wanted to thank you for hosting it. I've had a great time so far, not only making my own vids but also by watching others. As for the trailer itself, I've tried to show two themes by using quotes from other series. They might sound really random in here, because I've used so many regular Merlin quotes, but what I wanted to do was to use those quotes for the main story, and the Merlin quotes for the more specific aspects. At first I wanted all quotes to be from other shows, but let's be honest: no quotes can summon up the story of Merlin better than quotes from the actual show. I chose the quotes from other shows because I think they summon up the story perfectly, and because they are always in the back of my mind while watching merlin. Quotes: "Do you want to be a queen?" "No. I want to be the queen." This one really relates to Morgana, wanting only to be the queen of Camelot. "When you play the game of the thrones you win or you die. There is no middle ground." I think this one is obvious. If you play close attention to Merlin, you can see that it's actually a big battle to get that throne. The players, being Uther, Arthur, Gwen and Morgana, even experience the two options: winning or dying. "I always believe that evil isn't born. It's made." Morgana becoming "evil" through Merlin's poisioning and Morgause's influence. "All magic comes with a price." Merlin has used magic so often to save Arthur's life, and to help build the kingdom he was destined to protect. But in the end, that magic could claim the one price he wasn't prepared to pay. So the themes I wanted to show in this trailer were the game of thrones that takes place in Merlin and the price that Merlin has to pay for magic. Even though the last thing is actually a Once Upon a Time thing, I feel as somehow it also counts for Merlin. It only takes a little longer sometimes before they have to pay the price.
