I came up with my brand of know no one ever slows her agenda when I was just 16. And I just discovered my passion for journalism and media, and I took off running. And I was busy all the time. I was interviewing celebrities, and politicians, and blogging in like 2006, 2007 before anybody knew what a blog was.
So slowly what I realized I was doing was building up my social capital. When it came time for me to launch Her Agenda, I had already had a built in audience and a built in following who were just kind of waiting for me to actually put everything together into a platform, which is what I did and I already had the reach in the audience that I needed. I didn't have the financial capital. I actually had to fund it myself, but the social capital was greater in that instance and it led to a path for me to receive the financial capital.
